The bubble that bothered Tobias Rose-Stockwell was the tourism culture of Bangkok, Thailand. “People see you as a dollar sign. I felt there was a culture I wasn’t connecting with, so I decided to dive in and seek that connection.” Rose-Stockwell had studied abroad in South Africa while he was a student at Allegheny College. He remembers being approached by a woman in the bush who had two children and a baby and wanted some clothes. “I could personally
reach out and touch her and affect her circumstances…I could make a difference in an insignificant way.”
